“Digital Dam” Solution for Embankment Dams: As one of the oldest dam forms, the embankment dam has seen soaring development in recent years. In China, our embankment dam technology is now stepping over 200m towards 300m. The essence of embankment dam filling quality involves material source gradation and moisture content control, dam surface rolling process control and other contents. After the “Nuozhadu Digital Dam”, we applied digital monitoring technologies to thoroughly and automatically monitor the quality of every construction stage of embankment dam filling, and improve their construction management, thus gradually popularizing their application.
The application of INS technologies on embankment dams started from Jixi Pumped Storage Power Station, and was constantly proved and developed in Huanggou, Yimeng, Changlongshan, Guwa, Huangnan Reservoir, KAROT and other projects. The digital embankment dam solution constructed by INS Technology covers all aspects of embankment dam construction and operation:
[BIM design and outcome management] Manage the 3D design result, dam material partitioning, design properties of dam materials, construction control parameters, etc.
[Transportation monitoring and earthwork allocation balance] Based on GPS positioning, floor scale and RFID technology, it can track the material source of vehicle, discharging point, earthwork type, and transportation trajectory; calculate and analyze the excavated amount of excavation part, amount of useful materials, amount of material supply from material yard, filling amount in each dam area, storage amount of material yard, excavation strength, transportation strength, filling strength and other production control data; provide control method and measures for the execution of earthwork balancing solutions.
[Experimental testing and automatic watering] it can automatically calculate the water amount and add water by valve control based on the soil type, designed moisture content, actual moisture content measured in the lab, and the vehicle load.
[Dam surface rolling process control] Using GPS positioning and a vibration detecting device, it automatically monitors the running trajectory and amplitude of the rolling equipment, automatically calculates the quality control parameters such as rolling counts, rolling speed, amplitude, layer thickness, collects the results of on-site compactness tests, and automatically generate quality evaluation sheets for rolling process orders.
[Safety monitoring and Dam Stability Analysis] It manages the safety monitoring data of dams, and visualize detection points and safety monitoring data by using the BIM technology. Combining with the anti-sliding stability and seepage stability calculation of the dam, it can predict the safety conditions of dams during impounding and operation.
